Artist's statement 2015:

"There are innumerable ways that artists stimulate their imagination. For this year's creative springboard, I came up with the idea to focus on the shape of things, opening up an interesting pathway for artistic interpretation. Not only is shape one of several formal elements of painting but it is also a word of multiple meaning.

Geometric, organic, a state or condition, a form or configuration, a structure--whatever the definition, noun or verb, literal or figurative--shape served as the formative aspect for this body of work."
